New Hampshire Housing Committee Bills
January marked the beginning of my second term in the New Hampshire House. My freshman term I served on the Municipal and County Government Committee, but this term have moved to the new Housing standing committee. After years of working at the local level advocating for housing and economic development, this is a great opportunity. The committee was assigned 22 House bills this session, and they include a mix of land use and landlord tenant regulations. It has been a lot to process in a very short time. In two months, many positive changes were made to the bills introduced to the committee. Last session, I put out a write up on housing bills and shared it with Durham's Planning Board and Town Council. My aim this session is to do a better job of sharing ideas with communities on what we can do to fix our housing issues. I have attached my perspective of the bills we saw this session. In April, crossover occurs, and we will get Senate bills. I will provide another update in April and May.
