The Durham Housing Task Force was charged by the Durham Town Council with collecting data on the community's housing market. This information is being used to help the Durham Planning Board develop zoning ordinances that address identified housing needs. The Task Force applied for and received a New Hampshire Housing Opportunity Grant. The funds were used to hire RKG Associates to conduct a local housing needs assessment. The report highlights challenges of affordable workforce housing in our community. Over the next 16 years, 455 units will need to be added to meet Durham's projected demand. The executive summery of the report is attached as a PDF below. It is short and not overly technical. A perfect read with your morning coffee. The Durham Housing Taskforce is seeking feedback from as many voices in the community as possible and we need your help. Please take a few minutes and read the summary and send in your thoughts and ideas to al.howland.13@gmail.com. Your feedback will be shared with the Durham Housing Taskforce, Durham Planning Board, and Durham Town Council.
Thanks,
Al Howland
